It can be done, but it contradicts the server focussed way of holding the users information. As I said: EN has no official local backup strategy. Which shows the problem - the same (or nearly the same) notes are already on the server. But in itself it is not readable - you need the EN client to open the backup files and reload it to the server. The EN folder holds all necessary information. But you need to know what you do in case you run a restore, because you are manually modifying files meant to be modified by the program itself. EN is not build to support a local backup.
This is no problem as long as you stick to use the installed programs in the way they are build for.
